  1. Then I hope to see you on Scrib soon
  2. True
  3. That's exactly how I feel about my writing

Seriously, we all have problems putting all those cool ideas on paper, and really, the only thing you can do to get better is to keep writing. Honestly, you're probably right that you'll never meet your standards (I know that even the stuff I'm proud of looks terrible when I come back to it), but you are your worst critic. Pretty much always. So handle him how you handle all other critics and make the best of the criticism and improve in those areas.
  4. I think my bigger fear was not that people wouldn't like my writing as much as the possibility that I'm not really good at it. Like I'm a great concept guy but I can't make it work because my writing feels amateurish, which I may be too blind to see. Course I'm highly critical of everything so I've come to accept that my writing will never be up to my standards but I would hate to learn that I'm bad in general...

Basically my writing routine is like this:
  5. Basically.

Also, if you really want to get exposure, you have to get used to it. Someone out there will hate your work. It might be a lot of people. But in the end, that's what we get for living in a society that's so diverse. The alternative is leaving the work in your drawer, maybe sharing it with just a few friends who you know will say nice things to you. And there's really nothing wrong with that. But if you want to get out there, you need to take risks, and be prepared.

Plus, you'll learn to tell objective criticism from subjective criticism (even though a lot of the critiquers can't tell the difference) and you'll learn a lot of other things too. And as long as you don't lose sight of what you want to do and remember that there are people who like your work, no matter what, you'll get there. You really do have nothing to lose, and you can gain quite a lot.
  6. That's what I'm thinking too. I really should join the scribe site to make this easier. I often feel I'm too sensitive to let other people read my stuff but I'm at a point where I'm thinking to myself "smurf it, what do I really have to lose?"
  7. Maybe you'll get the opportunity to do both? I hope to see a lot of stories from you, honestly
  8. Part of me is thinking of reworking an older story and another part of me thinks I should start fresh. So not really sure just yet.
  9. Awesome! It's good to know I can count on you

So what story do you want to publish? Do you already have it written or are you still writing it?
  10. That's perfectly fine and I look forward to it.
