I think it was part of a promotion thing because the new artists are people who design monsters for various manga and sentai hero shows.
Oh yeah, saw the angels too. They do look pretty awesome, IMO. Was there some reason why they didn't get Kaneko to do the monsters in particular, or did they just want to have another feel for the game, hence the new guys?
You are in good compnay on that end, most fans didn't really like the new designs either though most agree the Minotaur design was pretty badass. Though I feel Masakado's redesign fits a bit better once you learn his role in the story. Though Lilith and the Sereph Angels redesigns eventually grew on me.
Oh man. You have no idea. It's a fantastic game so far and I just hope it keeps one. The one gripe I have is that the new designs are hit-or-miss. Although I like some, like the Minotaur, I really miss Kanwko. Wasn't a big fan of Medusa and accidentally stumbled over the horrible new Lucifer design.

I have been playing A LOT during the forum down time. I think I know now what you meant about the DLC. It is smurfing INSANE at how fast you can grind for stuff there. Won't be using that much, I can tell ya I am currently infiltrating the Circle of Gaea because they want me to kill Yuriko (I nearly freaked out when I heard that name). I'm kinda worried about my alignment since the Cynical man says I'm polite, even though I've been doing like you told me - picking the first choice in all the dialogs. Hope I don't mess up something and become lawful/chaotic by the time the algnment locks. Also, the Black Samurai and Gabby have the same face - what the hell?!
Fundraise is your best way to get money without scavenging for relics. Though there is a trick to making the most of fundraise... basically if the enemy is paralyzed you can "fundraise" a few more yen from them. Make sure you raise that skill to get the upgraded versions of it and you won't have to worry about money too much. Also some demons give more money than others so be on the watch for them.
So I've finally reached the bottom of the tower. Medusa was also a bitch to kill, but making a party with Zan somehow made me win. I like that even though the boss battles are pretty insane in difficulty already, at least they're much faster than they used to be. Any tips on getting money fast? I'm at Ueno, about to go hunt that head for the kelpies. All I can do for now to get any substantial cash is use the "fundraise" conversation skill.
