I'm not sure. As I said, it's not exactly my type of genre as I said before. I played XI with friends and it still wasn't really enough to keep me interested. It's not my type of online interaction. I'll think about it though.
So I'll probably be buying FFXIV today. Will still wait a while until we buy a laptop for my wife and she has more time to play, but you should totally join us. It'll be fun.

It's toned down over time but the first game is kind of synonymous with it.
DQ VIII had a normal script, if I remember correctly. It's still getting on my nerves.
The first game is a solo adventure and yes the butchered fake English is a thing through most of the series. DQIV even gives different accents to different regions which gets a bit annoying...
Also, I'm kinda bothered with the quasi-Early Modern English script. Do the other games Use the same gimmick?

DQI is pretty straightforward. My only real advice is that once you reach a new town with shops, to grind until you can get all the new gear before really exploring. The game can be pretty brutal since you are by yourself and your skills are limited.
