  1. Oh excellent. Those columns provide fantastic fodder for being snarky and hilarious regarding other people's problems.
  2. The initial suggestion was that I ought to perhaps do a tongue in cheek agony uncle column. This came about because out of sheer and utter boredom I started reading The Sun's "Dear Deirdre" page in humorous voices and interjecting my own vitriolic commentary. It was quite glorious, especially when I got the juicy stories like "I'm in love with my sister" or some crap like that.
  3. I wish I could write a humorous column anywhere. I feel like that is definitely within my skillset and would be a lot of fun. I love making snarky observations of the world.
  4. This is true. My colleagues want to be allowed to have me write a humourous column for the company newsletter. Except we think HR may take exception to me being a ridiculous arsehole. Or as I put it today when I said "Damn, if you can't even write it properly, you shouldn't be allowed to threaten litigation to a company it's just not fair on you when they stomp all over you in court" only to have a friend who can't spell for toffee remind me of this go "Yes, but I'm an Intellectual Bastard, did you expect anything different?"
  5. trout books make for much more hilarious reviews though. I definitely read things of a higher calibre in my down time.
  6. I don't intend to torture you by suggesting purely trout books to read though
  7. Probably on par. Maybe a little better because I wouldn't have to make so many scathing comments about the portrayal of BDSM. To say I think Twilight is overall better than 50 Shades causes me genuine pain because that book was also a train wreck, but I think it has a few less inconsistencies, even if the plot is just generally weak. Perhaps I should review that next
  8. Well less pleasant wording is fine by me Though I'm almost worried to know what your commentary of Twilight would be like xD
  9. Yes! I marked that inconsistency with pencil the first time I read this because it was just too stupid. Most of my pencil notes are along the lines of "Ana you're an idiot" though, but with less pleasant language.

All the sex scenes are less BDSM and more abuse. He takes her virginity and is a royal douche about it. The actual BDSM-esque scenes involve little to no concern for Ana and next to no aftercare, which people genuinely in the community were up in arms about. I'm looking forward to ripping this book a new one when I get up to those parts.
  10. I used to work in a major record store what had PA's all the time.

Oh I never actually found out her BDSM scenes were bad, I got to the very first sex scene and lost my ability to read it after I saw the part where Grey takes his coat off and then takes it off again about 2 pages later.
