  1. I'm a giant history nut, and it is fairly auctioned packed. I enjoyed it.
  2. I've held off on watching it until I finish it. But goodness is it long and kinda.... boring? I mean I'm still interested but it's a lot of info dumping about old england. The show good?
  3. That's the idea, go anyplace in the world and wires are still wires wether you hook them up to solar panels, or wire a home to the main grid. It's a lot less money to start with, but work for 10 months a school for two months and it will start catching up to what I was making.
  4. Yeah, that's probably the best idea. I, unfortunately, don't have many options where I live. So I need to think of something else I can and want to do. That's where I'm struggling. I dunno what trade like that to do! Electrical seems like an always needed trade. You could go anywhere!
  5. Ya this last dropout of oil and gas had me thinking about trades instead. Started applying for an electrical apprenticeship. Though you can go the oil and gas route with it, you are not tied to it like what I did. Once you have your ticket you can go anyplace you like.
  6. Yeah that's my dad, he's been in it his whole life. I didn't know you were an engineer! That's neat!

Yeah My home town is where Halliburton is based. Soooo lots got laid off there. It's been a bit of a mess. So I feel you strongly. I'm fortunate enough to work on the clerical side in an accounting position so i'm needed more.
  7. It's what I have done my whole adult life. I have delt with mostly natural gas too, bringing it from the wells, stripping the LNG's and water from it, and sending it down the line to sales. I'm a Power engineer whole specialized in oil and gas production. New taxes here caused 100,000 layoffs over night. These new pipelines means that new drills are coming though.
  8. Yeah. I'm in natural gas personally. We haven't really slowed down much at all! Well the normal end of the year slowing but the BF was making fraking units as a welder. They downsized. He worked for NOV.

The oil and gas industry is so volatile. I think honestly, we should move away from it.
  9. Ok, I know he was looking at me going across to work as he needs good help and has trouble finding it there. Yes stay positive. Big oil was just found in Texas, and Canada just now is announcing two massive pipelines, one headed into the US. Things will pick up work wise for him.
  10. That's very true. I have to remind myself to stay positive often. Ahh nah, we're in oklahoma. We own a home here so it's hard to pick up and move.
