Yeah. Though it's nice that at least with XII they went back and added some huge stuff. I'm also pretty confident (or at least hopeful) that XV will be a solid piece of work. On a completely unrelated not, the Pokémon Sun/Moon demo just came out yesterday. It's free, it's short, and it's made me even more excited for the game proper than I already was. Getting serious Lilo and Stitch vibes, actually. So I recommend checking it out if you're interested.
Yeah they definitely put more effort into things like that back then. Kind of reminds me of an interview I read with Sakaguchi and Tabata after the XV Release date event. Tabata recounted listening to Sakaguchi and Kitase talk about the old days and how Sakaguchi would always demand more than Kitase thought the team could do, but somehow it always worked out.
Honestly, though, I friggin love the outfits in FFV. I remember when I played FF Dimensions and it was a fun throwback to older FFs, but seeing every character look essentially the same as others in specific classes with just the head and color scheme changed, and then coming back to V, I really appreviate the effort they took to make everyone look unique. So even if you have a team of white mages, you can sure as hell count on each of them looking completely distinct. And it's a shame Galuf doesn't look good as most mages since I usually focus on magic with him Oh, one more thing I like about the ranger - Nightingale! Sure, it;s random, but it pops up relatively frequently and it heals almost 400 hp for everyone at this point, which is better than Cura and it's free!

They are not a bad class but I just never cared for archers for some reason. The robin hood get up doesn't help.
