  1. That's the secret that's yet to be revealed to me. My hope is that it's because of increased financial stability and decreased interpersonal drama that you finally get to really do what you want. But it could also be because, by that point, all of your orifices have been stretched wide enough that you don't even need KY anymore when management comes for you.
  2. Because you gain more control, or just...stop caring so much about being a corporate whore? :P
  3. It's all a trade off. Self-motivation is one thing that scares me about ever doing contract work on my own. I spend a lot of time coasting at work too, mostly due to waiting on others or being stuck on a problem. But it helps that my day-to-day output isn't directly tied to me being able to buy food and pay bills.

It does suck about 90% of the time though. Like hard. I'm quickly coming to understand how you either have to live as a starving artist or be a corporate whore and I'm kinda stuck on the latter end of the spectrum. People say it gets better the closer you get to 30 though so I'm always looking ahead!
  4. That sounds like a terrible office environment D: Well, I guess the rest of it could be awesome--but the filtering part sounds troutty! I like working at home, overall, though after my first year of freelancing I started finding it way harder to make myself work as much as I should. Been kind of coasting. I'd like to have a real job to get that motivation and have stricter deadlines pushing me forward. And healthcare would be cool too
  5. Working from home is ideal and an eventual goal of mine! For now though I'm stuck working in an office that is super paranoid. Like, I'm blocked from reading bbc.co.uk because it's a website that's not hosted in the US. It's kinda absurd.
  6. well maybe it's cause I work from home and multi-monitor with a 2560x1440 screen but I have enough room to just leave it open and glance at it erry so often so I GOT TIME FOR IT

  7. I do most of my EoFFin' at work these days.
