Ahhh!! I don't know. I love anthropology so much, I can't learn enough about it. I even love the boring parts (like why tribes settle down and become civilizations, etc...). I thought about taking a Sociology course on crime, etc... We talk about the occurrences of laws and codes in anthropology and what prompts them, especially the incest taboo, which has this huge controversy in Anthropology. Oh! But I want to travel to remote regions and record dying tribal knowledge on local medicine before it leaves them forever. I think Sociology and Anthropology have so many crossovers that they'd be likely to merge in the future, if the members weren't so opposed. I don't think Sociology really has any problem with the spread of Westernization, whereas all of my professors say the world "modern" like it's the foulest curse known to man (while pulling up slides on their laptops). Funnily, I find the archaeology branch to be the least opposed to modernization.
Awww mann xD You're making me want to pick up anthropology now! I do absolutely adore my Sociology though and we're doing Crime and Deviance as a topic in class now and it's so so interesting. I've never done anthropology so I don't know what it would be like! Oh noo please carry on and tell me more!
I really love anthropology. It will let me go to the places in the world where Westernization hasn't taken a firm hold yet and that's really important to me. I'm probably going to be doing medicinal anthropology (documenting tribal medicines, etc...) but social anthropology is really fascinating too. I'm a great deal more interested in anthropology than sociology but I think it's primarily because anthropology is traditionally more interested in tribes and non-Western culture whereas Sociology, traditionally, deals with "civilization." However, the lines are mostly blurred now as everyone seems to be advancing to modernity (blaahhh).
I looked into doing social anthropology! Is it good? My Sociology teacher told me not to though and told me to stick with Sociology.

I left secondary school last year! I'm in college now, but our college isn't like what you call college as we call that University which I go to next year. It's all so confusing!
