  1. Anyways, how are you doing today?
  2. Oh yeah, minor for sure. Like there are some people who it just breaks my heart hearing about their OCD, really. It's just like, I tell myself "The doors have been locked and closed since the last time you checked. It's fine." And I still check anyways. xD I mean, it could definitely be something worse, but it's still unpleasant. Another one of those things where it doesn't interrupt my life too negatively.
  3. slight TMILike, do you REALLY think that I ENJOY picking my skin until I've got wounds (like, yeah, it's comforting when I'm sad or stressed but)? Do you really think that I like that my fingers look like they've gone through a grinder? I don't. It's absolutely as painful as it looks. Of COURSE I want to stop.

Luckily it hasn't spread too far past my fingers (I do get really into picking other things on my body sometime) so it's not interrupting my life too much. But it does hurt and looks bad.
  4. Yeah, that's totally compulsive behaviour. I actually do that too! Even though it's a relatively 'minor' obsession, it still causes serious anxiety!
  5. I totally agree. If it was as easy to "just stop", then I would in a flash. People seem to think that people make a choice to have psych illnesses, and that you can just switch them off with a flick of a button!
  6. Besides my skin picking, I've never really thought I had any other compulsions. But after your post, I do identify some. I get freaked out about losing stuff that's in my purse. I'll check to make sure everything is there when I leave. Then I'll check as I'm walking. Then I check once I get in my car. Then I'll check WHILE I'M DRIVING (I've almost gone off the roads of a few times). It's especially annoying in the car because while logically I know things are still there because I JUST checked it, I have to make sure.

I just always thought I was being anal about losing trout. xD
  7. I think what's the most stupid about it is people are always like "Why don't you just stop?" Oh wow, why didn't I think of that? BECAUSE IF I COULD JUST STOP I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN DOING THIS LITERALLY AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER.
  8. Yeah, it's stupid. Dermotillomania, that is. xD And also people who fake, of course.
  9. Oh god, no! Not at all. Please don't think my comment was aimed at you! I just agree that there seems to be a lot of hypochondria in society in general nowadays, I was just using OCD as an example! I wouldn't want to detract anything from anybody who is also suffering with a genuine illness, which yours also is.
  10. Hey, I hope that you didn't feel like me talking about my skin-picking was trivializing OCD. (I didn't even really talk about it, just mentioned it).
