  1. You know, WIndows 8 doesn't look as bad as I was expecting it too.
  2. Pleased to hear it!
  3. Thank you kindly, your answers helped me greatly.
  4. 1) It shouldn't be a problem and I see no reason you'd lose data, but I've never actually moved the OS itself from one drive to another like that so I can't tell you for certain.

    2) There is no reason whatsoever to get a dedicated sound card of any sort unless you are doing professional sound work. It's been many years since onboard sound was of poor enough quality to warrant that, so you're good there!
  5. Alright, now to bug you with a couple more questions now that my PC is coming in.

    1) I'll be saving up later for an SSD. When I get it, is the process of loading up my OS onto that easy? And am I likely to lose any Data for doing that? I imagine it's not a problem, but I figured I'd ask.

    2) While my Graphics card is Dedicated, my Sound card is not. Is there a huge difference between dedicated and integraged Sound? I'm wondering if it's worth investing in a USB sound card.
  6. Excellent, thank you for the help.
  7. It depends on the size of the drive, but basically yes, you put your OS and if possible your most used programs on your SSD, whilst you put your various pictures, stories, music files, videos, anything you're not using on a daily basis, on a regular HD. SSDs are basically just super fast - my computer takes about 12 seconds from pressing the power button to being at my desktop ready to go.
  8. So my last question is about the SSD.

What exactly would I be using it for? From what I read some people seem to use it for loading thier OS off of, and running other things off their normal HDD.
  9. Oh wow I totally overlooked that. Disregard my last advice; integrated graphics are fine for day-to-day officey stuff and from those specs should be okay for older games, but if you want to play any serious new games and be able to rely on the computer going forward, you'll want a dedicated graphics card of some kind.
  10. The only worry I had was the Graphics were intigraged and I heard somewhere online that's not good. Of course have no Idea if that's actually true or not.
