  2. Well it is a bit rare I suppose. I just wish she lived closer to me. I like being able to help her with the physio and stuff when I'm around.

She knows quite a few more people with CF than me though obviously.

How has your health been of you don't mind me asking? And congrats on the marriage. Don't think is said that to you yet so better really late than never.
  3. Ah shoot, I feel like you so very rarely find someone else/someone who knows someone with CF!
  4. Yes she does actually. Health is still pretty good thankfully.
  5. Wait, does your gf have Cystic Fibrosis?
  6. It's a hard thing to get across sometimes. I don't condone the violence on either side, but my god, Trump has been encouraging it in his supporters and attacking innocent people with his rhetoric for so long that I'm not surprised that some would finally cross that line. I honestly worry about what will happen now if he is President. I honestly wasn't expecting riots to break out until that possibility happened. I mean, I honestly don't blame anyone on the left or who Trump has attacked for feeling the urge to resort to violence. I'm honestly afraid for them if he becomes President so I can only imagine how it feels to be any of the people he attacks who are actually living with that possibility looming over them. I'm scared enough for what his presidency would mean to the rest of the world. I really would never want to be in their shoes.
  7. Very succinct post just now. I didn't really know how to say that while I don't condone their actions, I UNDERSTAND them.
  8. No problem. Wish I could do more but it's tough when I can't look at the car. But you're playing it smart and with any luck it won't be too bad.
  9. Yeah, I think we're just going to call a local garage (that has a lot of reviews and is rated highly) and have them tow it over and look at it for me. Better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for trying to help, though.
  10. It's been sitting for several months? Sharky may be able to help a little better since we didn't cover a ton about engines and engine diagnosis in school, but I know things can be a bit problematic if a car's been sitting a long time. I know there are things you're supposed to do if you're going to leave a car in storage for the winter for example to help protect it.

What colour was the smoke? I could think of some things that might happen from what I know that could lead to smoke from the engine. Hopefully it's something like a leak in the exhaust manifold, or maybe a seal somewhere leaking some exhaust gas rather than something really bad. Those would be relatively simple fixes compared to some things I could imagine going wrong.

Regardless, I'd say shutting it off was the right choice. Clearly it's doing something it shouldn't so I'd say get it looked at before driving it. If you can get someone knowledgeable or a professional to come to you to check it out that'd be good, but likely you'll have to get it towed to a shop. But avoiding causing damage by driving it in it's present condition until you know what's wrong old save money on repairs in the long run.
