Do some research and try to keep things in perspective. Many religions beside Islam have "strong" beliefs, and many people of those different beliefs "take them too seriously" (some Christians in the US come to mind). The Danish cartoon was not one of the Muslim God (which is the same as the Christian and Jewish one btw), but of the religion's main prophet. Also, keep in mind that the Muslims who do all these extreme things (wounding themselves in protest, terrorist acts) are in the minority, but the media latches on to these things for sensationalist reasons. Basically, Islam's not the only religion to follow and do the things you're talking about (in general terms), but that's what the media focuses on a lot.
