Used to attempt a 6-string Bass... Which was a revamp of a standard guitar I got from a coworker, using to 2 biggest strings, with the 4 Bass... But I ended up having to sell it... Which I regret.
About four years now. There are times where I play obsessively for a few months, then lay off it for a while, so I usually end up relearning things every once in a while. It's sad, but it works, heh. Do you play or anything?
Sounds like one of the better ways to get a good foundation. How long have you casually played?
I find note-by-note tabs and play those, basically. Sometimes I play around with the tabs and alter them so they sound better to me. It's pretty pathetic, to be blunt xD At least it is until I can memorize a song.
Ah. So do you read and play, or wing it and strike what sounds right?
Well, yes, but I don't think of them as chords, just part of the whole song. I'm screwed if someone gives me a list of chords and tells me to play them
