Oh, I see. The duolingo lessons have me translating sentences like "the woman eats an apple" or "I eat bread" or "she eats the apple" or whatever, and it's always Yo como pan" or "la mujer come una manzana" or "ella come la manzana" My flashcards have that as well. Odd.
wait. If you like something, you would say, "Me gusta tacos" or "Me gusta on taco" ... Como can mean like and eat, depending on what you're saying. like "Estoy como un gordo" - I'm like a fat person (which is kinda slang, I guess). then there's "Yo como tacos" - I eat tacos, but it makes it difficult to translate it without the punctuation mark over the o at the end. Because the basic word is "Comer"- To Eat. But from what -I- know, you would say, "Estoy comiendo tacos" for present tense (I'm eating tacos), and for past tense it would be "Comi tacos/ Yo comi tacos", with an accent on the I or whatever.
That's odd, all my French stuff says como is I eat a taco I just checked google translate and putting in Yo como un taco translated to I like a taco, but then I put in I eat a taco and it still came out as Yo como un taco. So apparently like and eat are the same thing???
