Yes, you are. Is this something I could fix myself, or do you recommend taking it to get fixed? I just don't have a ton of money at the moment, and car repairs can get so pricey! Good to hear it's probably not too bad, though. Thanks for getting back to me, by the way! I appreciate it!
Hi there! Well with out seeing it, it's of course speculation. Usually it's because of the way the wiper attaches though. You have a motor with a shaft that turns the wiper back and forth. It is splined, and has an arm that runs from the motor to the wiper arm. The wiper arm has a hole with corresponding splines in it. So the long arm that runs from the motor to the wiper arm mesh together to hold the wiper in place and turn it. There's a nut on the wiper arm that tightens it down to the longer motor arm. Best case scenario, the nut is loose and that's all. You'll have to line up the wiper again, and tighten the nut down. Next, the wiper splines have stripped out, and you'll need to replace the wiper arm. Shouldn't be horribly expensive. Or the wiper motor arm splines have stripped out, and you'll need to replace the wiper motor arm. This cost can vary widely based on where the motor is hidden, how easy it is to get to, and how much the arm is. Or both the motor arm and wiper arm need replacing. Since your driver's side is working fine, I doubt there's any issue with the motor itself. It's almost certainly in the linkage. Am I explaining it clearly?
Hey there, car man. I have a question if you wouldn't mind helping me out...my right windshield wiper has stopped working for no reason. It kind of works, but it's very slow and won't go all the way up. When it goes back down, it thuds really hard. Any idea what might be going on? And even more important: will it be cheap to fix?
Hey Sam. You guessed Julian's reference, so it's your turn to create a puzzle. Hope things are good!
The new hair is nice. It's a thumbs up for me.
