It was obvious, I just prefer my head canon where we live in a world where that isn't a reason to do anything.

She's done talks before where her life had been threatened. The difference with this one is the dickhead threatened to go on a rampage and kill a bunch of people who had nothing to do with her. So basically the lesson here is making a terrorist threat gets you what you want when the school cares more about the second amendment than the safety of their students.

That's about what I thought actually. Jesus Christ it's pathetic when you don't understand why things are happening and it turns out no one else knows either.

Seemed like misogynist bulltrout though. Christ, it was bad enough when it was still mostly about the Zoe Quinn thing. For the life of me I can not understand why people gave a trout who she may have allegedly slept with according to a butt hurt ex.

And speaking of Sarkeesian, I still would have done the talk at that University. If someone actually wanted to come and try to kill me over it they'd be welcome to. And if anyone wanted to come listen and tell those asshats to shove it with me they'd be welcome too.

I don't understand a lot of it either. Mostly it's reactionaries being butthurt that the rest of the Internet isn't reactionary, and I can't profess to have a solid understanding of the reactionary mind. I don't understand what's kept this going on so long apart from the fact that haters gonna hate, because the premises it's based on are completely fictitious.

Movie Bob had a good summary last month that i can try to find if you'd like (that he predictably got flamed and blacklisted for). Of course that was a month ago. Cracked has run a lot of good stuff too.

I think gaming is pretty much ruined forever as a respectable hobby after this. I mean, smurfing terrorist threats? Really?

So this gamer gate stuff. I was under the impression when it first started that it was about what's her face who allegedly slept around, and I largely ignored it for a while because the whole thing seemed stupid. But it's still going on and I legitimately have no idea what's going on anymore. Don't suppose you could lay out a brief explanation for me. Sounds like something I should be angry about for one reason or another.

Yeah it's pretty shocking that this is a network television show. I'd expect something like this to air on cable, but not on broadcast tv.

Every time I watch the show I can't believe that NBC has anything to do with it. And season 2 really did ratchet the gore up. What happens to one of the main characters alone tops everything in season 1.

Season two was apparently one of the most graphic things one of my friends had ever seen. I was amazed at how much they ratcheted up the gore though. The mushroom episode was kind of disturbing but nothing I couldn't handle; the angels were at least ten times more so. If there were an edited version that had the graphic gore edited out I'd probably watch it.
