Hey sharky, thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it and agree with everything you said. No one I really know was really looking down on me for doing this, but I was mainly concerned about what others would think if they knew that I have decided to abstain. The amount of support from the eoffers really did surprise me in a good way, so I'm not as worried about this as I was before I made the thread. Anyhoo, things have been faring well as my health is getting better over time. Hopefully I'll be 100% within the next few months. btw: sorry for the late response.
Proots, you're a good guy, and I like ya. I just saw your post concerning abstaining from alcohol, and frankly I was surprised you were even concerned. I try not to judge any one, but if I had a friend who just had a kidney replaced, the only way I might judge them concerning alcohol is if they were drinking. If you know someone who you think might look down on your for not doing something or avoid hanging out with you for not doing something that could cause you very real, very possible, and very dangerous organ failure, then they aren't people you need to associate with anyway. I'm sorry to sound terse, if I do, but I'd hate to see you hurt yourself trying to fit it with people who would expect you to do that anyway. If I have a friend who can't drink, I'm not going to expect him to drink. If I feel like I can't hang out with them if we aren't drinking, then I either need to reevaluate my friendship or my own personal issues. Anyway, stay safe and take care of yourself. The right people will still be there for you, and if you lose others then they weren't good for you anyway. Hope you're slowly feeling better.
