Can someone explain the Gil to me here?

I noticed when you post a new topic it's like 3 or 5 and 1 for each post made, is there a system?

    I believe it is 5 gil for every thread made and 1 gil for every post. The gil is used to buy Triple Triad cards.

    You can use them to buy Triple Triad cards/packs only right now. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It takes 2 gil (2 posts or 1 thread) to buy a couple of level 1 packs and then you can just win the rest.
