Mindy and I spoke with an obstetrician on Friday and things are looking pretty good. That's my kid down there.



I don't know if you're like me, but I can never figure these things out. I had to have the doctor explain it to me. You see that black void of nothingness surrounded by all that uterus television static? Well the baby is that little bean shaped thing hangin' out at the bottom of it.

It was pretty surreal watching this. All the doctor had to do was measure the length of the baby and the computer could figure out how far along she was (9 weeks as of today).

We also got to see the heartbeat, which was honestly the most exhilarating thing I've ever seen. I'm sure a lot of people would look at it and think that it's just a silly blip on the screen, but it's the first heartbeats of a new life, life that I helped create, and I got to see them! I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, not so much as movies and television portray it to be anyways, but I really felt a pang in my chest. There's a little person with a little heartbeat in there! The doctor tried letting us hear the heartbeat too. We couldn't, but just the fact that it's possible blows my mind!

Well, that's enough of the sappies.

So our due date is the 24th of October. I told Mindy that if she ends up having the baby on AC4's midnight release then she's having a mall baby. She was not amused by that.
