As some of you may know, I am soon planning on taking a hiatus from EoFF and focusing on different things. I'm still completing my GeoGuessr event though. So while I'm still here, I figure I can fill you in on some positives in my life.
I have found these two cute little DS games , My Weight Loss Coach, and My Spanish Coach, and I have to say, they've given me a bunch of motivation.
I now do a spanish lesson every day or two and in the past week, I have learned:
Numbers up to 15
10 colours
Days of the week (Hoy es miercoles, manana es jueves)
months (es agosto)
pronouns
and today I learned gender identifiers and the verb to be (ser)
(Yo soy una muchacha)
I do each lesson 3 times in a row, 3 times a day (so 9 total) and I redo all of the lessons regularly so I don't forget.
My Weight Loss coach is a cute little program that I use as motivation. The way it works is:
- you have a daily step goal (5000 at least for me)
- then you have daily challenges (up to 6 that you select every day; today I had 30 lunges, run for 5 minutes straight, dance to two songs, for example, and 3 others. Some are exercise, some are food related, etc)
- Then you input your exercise for the day (at the end of the day) and each is worth a certain number of points. For example, 20 minutes of weight lifting is worth 2 points.
- Then you input your food consumption for the day. This has been very helpful for me because I don't eat enough sometimes and I eat to much other times. Each food amounts to a certain number of points (water and carrots are 0, eggs are 2(?), pie is 6, etc)
You have a certain number of points everyday just based on weight and height. Then you add to that base number the exercise number (I usually add 4-5 points a day) and that is how much you want your food points to add up to (within 5 or so points). If it's more, you ate too much and if it's less, you ate too little. I find that most days, I ate too little so I can award myself with another snack like a banana (2 points) or even a cookie (3 points). Then I'm in balance. By being balanced I usually save around 900 calories a day (give or take, it isn't an exact system).
You get little quizzes so they can personalize the challenges to you, and you get little rewards. It's pretty cute and it helps keep me motivated.
Other than that, I've been doing good and keeping busy.
