Jinx and shion. we should start a the giver fan club because that book is just... awesome. awesome and sad but awesome. i just wanted to say that xD most silly blog ever but xD hi the giver fans out there
The Giver is a great book. It gives the feels.
I think I was your age when I read the book. Even at 22, when I read it, it moves me. It's amazing.
I read it when I was 15. Haven't been able to re-read it yet. But I certainly want to!
I read it for the first time a couple of years ago (maybe even just a year ago). I missed out as a kid by never reading this book, haha.
well now we know we have something in common! =D
I really like The Giver! It's probably my favorite book. I read it when I was 12.
So it's around for a while? What is it about?
Had to read it my freshmen year of High School. It was a nice break from the usual stuff that public school in my area makes you read 1,000 times over. I'm too lazy to look for a link, but I think they are actually going to make a movie soonish. Normally, I would be kind of meh, but if I remember correctly Jeff Bridges is supposed to play the title character, and I think that would be a great fit if true.
Yup! The movie actually comes out on my birthday this year! I'm a bit put off that Taylor Swift is Rosemary (and the billing her as a lead, even when Rosemary is a minor role), but excited nonetheless!
woo! i am SO going to see this! =D
Mahad: It's hard to explain the plot without giving away too much of the story. Its a distopian society type of story where everyone is basically treated as equals and a lot of your life is decided for you. Its a short book, you should read it
Thanks shion; can't say I'll ever get around to reading books again just for fun, but I'll certainly keep it in mind if I do.
I loved that book. I should read it again sometime. I think the last time I read it was nearly 8 years ago.
