So, less than a week ago I got my new bass. A Rickenbacker 4003 Fireglo and by the gods is it awesome. With a punching trebly tone that any bass player who doesn't like being at the back and being unheard would kill for. This thing is a beast. A destroyer of worlds that when let loose amongst the backline of any band in any genre of music it will dominate and it will ravage, reap and conquer just like bass damn right should!

With bass players such Cliff Burton, Geezer Butler, Geddy Lee, Lemmy Kilmister and John Entwhistle amongst some of the titanic bassists to name to have picked up this beauty of a bass in its old 4001 incarnation (The 4003 is a modern day reissue of the 4001 model) it is a force to be reckoned with.

I also have ANOTHER Rickenbacker which I got last year but its a different model, the 4004. In comparison the 4003 is a lot brighter, trebly with a slightly thinner neck but on the other hand the 4004 sounds better tuned down and for more evil sounding songs. I will definitely be honing both in the future.
