Blog number 2 and I have some bad news!

My new band, the one I started with 2 professional session musicians I met back in October, the drummer lost his job and has decided to leave Dublin and move to London to find work

So it's beginning to look increasingly more likely that band number 8 is just about dead! I'm seriously getting sick of this sh*t! Last year I put 6 months of work into getting band 7 off the ground and thanks to the attitude of an ultimately flakey female lead singer, I was forced to quit! I really thought band number 8 was going somewhere. Last week we were talking about a 40 minute set in March/April & a full 2 hours in July/August and today BOOM it's banjacked!

I'm an unemployed college graduate, I can't afford the €12000 for Law school, not sure I want to be a lawyer either to be honest, I'm life has hit a severe lull & music is the only thing keeping me sane. But when sh*t like this happens & it happened a lot in 2010, I honestly feel loss! Last year alone, I fell out with the guitarist in band 5 because he thought he was Mozart essentially and had honestly the worst attitude of anyone I have ever played with.

Then the waste of time that was band 6, we interviewed no fewer than 20 people to be either our drummer or bassist. 2 drummers quit, 1 fell out with the lead singer & the other fell out with me (which was my fault looking back) & the only bassist we ever settled on the lead singer decided to fire after a couple of weeks because she thought because he engaged in playful flirting with either me (I'm not gay, he knew it & was nothing but a joke to be honest) & the other guitarist (her boyfriend). The bassist in band 8 jammed with band 7 but decided after 1 practice I was the only member who's work ethic or talent was worth his time (his words not mine), thus band 8 was born.

So now I don't honestly know what to do! More online classifieds & random meet ups with strangers in bars & cafes like 2010, give being a solo artist a go or do the unthinkable and audition for the next season of X Factor? Hmmm not sure I'm desperate enough for reality television yet!

Having ranted about it, I feel slightly better, maybe this blogging thing will become a regular "thing" for me who knows. If anyone decided to read this thank you for bothering! Peace
