Oh man, thanks rubah. I'm gonna check those out when I'm home. I actually added a couple of the older songs by Pet Shop Boys to my library the other day. I haven't heard of most of the other ones, so yay.

foa, I have the discography of Coheed & Cambria somewhere on my PC although I've not yet gone through it. I liked a couple of songs that Srarah introduced me to some time ago. I should definitely make an attempt to listen to some of their albums... any suggestions as to which one? D=

With C&C, the albums tell a story (the 5th album being a prequel) But seeing as you're just starting with them, I'd probably say the safest bet is to go with the most famous album: Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness. If you like that, then definately delve into the rest of their albums, cause they're an amazing band

Oh, and my own addition to the list would be a band called Anberlin. Try Dismantle. Repair. and Feel Good Drag.

Based on your taste that I know, I would almost say to start with the newest album (which you may not have) Year of the Black Rainbow. It has a lot of electronic influence. One of the producers, Atticus Ross, works with Trent Reznor pretty often. Actually was teamed with him for The Social Network soundtrack.

Otherwise, a good introductory album is Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV Volume 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness (usually called Good Apollo 1, lol) because it has a very heavy classic rock influence, multi-layered songs. It is at once the "angry" album but also the one with the most ballads. If you pick this one for your first, I would recommend you listen to it in reverse order. The last song on the album is this amazing blues driven jam. But there are also a couple of good ballads.

If you don't already listen to Seether I think you should. Because they're also awesome.

Do you listen to Kenna? Definitely an electropop performer, but his songs are very emotionally driven, very powerful. I love them.

You should already be listening to Adele. lol. You take all the good parts of Amy Winehouse, multiply them by infinity, and erase the bad. I put them in similar genres, both sing R&B, but Adele is the most amazing vocalist to come along since Jennifer Hudson.

Also, if you like what you hear, listen to Duffy! She's adorable.

Listen to the new Alice in Chains. I'm serious. It's pretty great.

And if you really want to channel foa, look up a band called JJ Grey & Mofro. Especially the Country Ghetto album. Listen to The Sun is Shining Down. It will fill you with joy.

EDIT Oh oh oh, try Crash Kings. They're very... well they're kind of unusual. Think Billy Joel meets the Mars Volta.

Oh, Adele and Duffy are/were very big over here. They're nothing new to me and Adele regularly tops the charts. They're okay, but not something I get excited over. Duffy can drag on a bit, although that's perhaps because Danielle played her songs too often. I never liked Warwick Avenue at all. Adele... hrm. I know she's good, but just... again, too slow for me. I need something faster, I think.
