This is my first blog. I hope you like it! I am a college student attending Northern Illinois University. My hobbies include reading, playing video games, watching anime/reading manga, and cooking. I love fantasy and science fiction very much. My favorite Final Fantasy is Final Fantasy IX. I grew up with that one, and something about it just speaks to me. And I love Freya and Vivi. I've played a lot of role playing games including Xenogears, Xenosaga series, Saga Frontier, Chrono Trigger, Dragonquest VIII, Final Fantasy Tactics/Advance, FF 1,2,6,7,9,10,10-2, and 12. I deeply regret the fact that I haven't played 8 yet. I am looking to remedy this as soon as possible, along with 3, 4, and 5. I would also like to play Chrono Cross as well.

I am an avid fan of music. I would die without it. Metal/rock is my favorite music genre. I love Japanese rock bands. I also love American rock bands as well, but I've begun to really expand into jrock recently. Bands I tend to like are bands that take risks and are easily identifiable based on their unique style. My favorite American bands are Tool, Slipknot, Deftones, Alice in Chains, and Chevelle. My favorite Japanese rock bands are Dir en Grey, Maximum the Hormone, Onmyouza, The Gazette, 9 goats black out, Buck-Tick, X Japan, and SADS/Kuroyume/Kiyoharu (Kiyoharu does a lot of work with these bands on and off when he isn't doing solo work). But this is only a few. I listen to a lot more bands from many different places around the world. Discovering music I haven't heard before that I like fills me with happiness!

I also love video game soundtracks. This is my second favorite genre. My favorite video game soundtracks come from the Final Fantasy series, Xenogears, Xenosaga, Chrono Trigger/Cross, and the Castlevania series. I love video game music, because it allows for a lot of experimentation with instrumental music, and often creates works that make you feel something inside-whether it be great awe, happiness, or sadness. What kind of music do you like to listen to?
