help me find an Anime!! xD

Rate this Entry
at the moment im following mainly Bleach and Naruto, but im ready for more.
Its vacation and i have plenty of time.

the only problem is that i cant really find an anime that fascinates me enough.
i started Full Metal Alchemist quite a while ago, but gave that up.

Just as i think im about to give up Death Note.

So my question: Does anyone know a nice anime, alike naruto of bleach, that might keep me fascinated enough to follow it all the way through? xD

These kinds of shows aren't really my thing, but I think Soul Eater is kind of similar.

Uhm... I noticed today that Chobits is available on Netflix streaming. That one seems to appeal to both genders, and I enjoyed it many years ago. I also like Spice & Wolf, though there's not much action there.

I went to Naruto on Netflix and looked at what it says are similar animes, and it suggests Soul Eater, Devil May Cry, Inuyasha (which I enjoyed well enough), and D. Gray-man.

ahh Shaibanana, a woman after my own heart <3

Anyways I would highly recommend the best anime every conceived that is Shakugan no Shana, its just so epicly awesome, I would also point you to the only site anime should be watched on that is otaku-streamers its the only site I have found that has no ads on the site and it has something like 30,000 episodes of anime, including a few anime seasons uploaded by meeee! so yeah, go there and watch this series, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Awww you didn't like FMA? I liked the second one (FMA Brotherhood) much better than the original if that means anything to you. I also love Soul Eater but if you give that a try, give it at least 5-10 episodes to really decide if you like it or not as they take awhile to get through the intro of the world and characters. Black Star's character kinda reminds me of Naruto...although the voice actor for Black Star actually does Nawaki's voice in Naruto.

Why did you decide to give up on Death Note? I suppose there isn't as much fighting like in Bleach and Naruto if that's what you like, but I did like Death Note as well as Code Geass since they have a similar feel. Code Geass's style is kinda pretty since it's made by Clamp, so if you don't like Clamp's style (I believe they made X as well) you might not like Code Geass. But it's got more fighting and action than Death Note has.

Darker Than Black is another one of my favorites where contractors have special powers and there are fighting and action scenes. Oh! I haven't watched this myself, but a lot of my friends who love Bleach/Naruto also love One Piece (and say it's the best anime out there). Fairy Tail is also kinda similar.

i have actualy watched about 4 episodes of Soul Eater but it was mostly the style (background etc) that bothered me. i strongly prefer it to be more realistic if it comes to that.

i did like FMA, and im not that sure wy i dropped it.. .. ... .. .. . maybe ill (re)start watching that again ^^

ill check all the anime's u mentioned xD and hope theres something interesting between it :P

Starting FMA Brotherhood seems like a good idea, but than im afraid that ive missed to much and wont understand it becaus i havent (fully) watched FMA :o

Hmm...Brotherhood isn't so much a sequel as much as a retelling of part of the anime. The first FMA didn't follow the manga very well, so Brotherhood kinda picks up a quarter/halfway through the first series where it started deviating from the manga. I think it'd be good to watch both since they're both good series. I might give it some time inbetween so that you're not watching almost exactly the same things back to back though.

Soul Eater is really cutesy and cartoony. If you like more realistic animation...Darker than Black and Code Geass might be worth trying out. X is older and not as "fun" as some other animes out there, but still pretty good.

Also, this might be an anime you'll absolutely hate...but one of my favorite animes is NANA. It's more of a slice of life/romance/drama/music anime, so it's not a fighting/action one at all. It's a more "realistic" anime and deals with adult/growing up situations so give it a try if you think that might be something you'd like. Oh, and Cowboy Bebop is always an oldie but goodie if you haven't checked it out. And Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, I think you either love or hate it (I love it but my boyfriend didn't like the ending...thought it got a little too ridiculous/unbelievable). Sorry for the long posts...there's just so many animes out there that I love!

I loved Gurren Lagann because it was so ridiculous. It really kept you from getting too bored. It was a little to dramatic for it's own good from time to time.

I liked Now and Then, Here and There.

You might try Full Metal Panic! for something that's a little more mindless. It's like a cross between Inuyasha and Tenchi Muyo, which makes sense.

I too support the watching of Gurren Lagann, it was very entertaining.

Also another great anime that I would mention is Fate/Stay Night.

Inuyasha? I enjoyed it more than most anime that I have watched

Cowboy Bebop. Everyone, anime fan or not, needs to watch this show.

And if you don't like it you can burn in hell along with my sister.

Gun Smith Cats. It's short, but I love it. You can see how the opening influenced the opening of some other animes. It's just a cool little buddy cop story line done anime style.
