Ever17 just got really creepy... and intriguing

Okay, so, uh, Ever17. I finished the first character route and on replay I decided to answer some of the very first choices differently.

Starting with this one:

First playthrough I picked "Who am I", so this time I picked "I've got to find my friends". Turns out... simply picking this choice changes your POV character. I really have no idea what's going on but it feels as if two characters have "blended together" in this one scene and here I pick which one becomes dominant and thus the narrator.

So the character I played as before is suddenly a side character while a side character from before is now the main. This isn't so uncommon but the way it just switched with this one choice kinda freaks me out.

...but it doesn't stop there. When the survivors all get together for the first time things got really weird once more.

The guy in the middle was the POV character in my first playthrough. So far so good. The other two however are a problem. Why? Well first off the girl on the right didn't even properly exist last time. It was a plot point that there was supposedly an extra survivor which only the POV character could see every now and then, who stayed behind at the end of the arc, and whose role and identity were always mysterious.

Well now here she is, just like that; and instead one other character is missing. We still have the problem with the extra survivor but since I'm on a different POV this time there's not been much info about that.

The other problem is with the girl on the left. She was amongst the survivors last time and her role is pretty much unchanged. But one thing was unsettling. And that is her name.

Here's a screenshot from my first playthrough:

And now here's one from my current playthrough:

In case you didn't figure it out yet, her name was Yubisei"aki"kana before, and now all of a sudden it's Yubisei"haru"kana. Normally something like that would've flown right over my head and I wouldn't have even begun to notice. But in this case it stuck out, because as you may be able to tell by the first screenshot, the POV character from the first playthrough brought this up. That her name felt 'weird'. Like it should've been "haru" instead of "aki". On that note, the opening of the game clearly shows her name with haru.

So yeah, really strange discrepancies. But it's intriguing. I'm really interested in seeing how this turns out and it's been a while since I felt this hooked to finding out what's going on. I just hope the pacing picks up a bit because going through the exact same events as in the first playthrough but from a different perspective... so far hasn't turned out to be all that interesting. The plot does finally seem to pick up and branch off a bit, though, so I'll reserve my judgment.
