Muv-Luv is getting an official localization

So this is a thing. People called âge localizations an impossibility, but Degica did it. They're gonna be kickstarting it which you can probably blame on Sekai Project's successes in doing just that, but I have no doubts it'll meet its goal. In fact, I'll certainly be pledging towards it, since while I do overall think Muv-Luv is more popular than it needs to be it's still a damn good story overall.

The formal announcement isn't until later this week at Anime Expo. I'll be editing this post with the additional info from there then.

Oh right, I still need to write a Muv-Luv Alternative review, don't I...

Update

A poll was posted a while ago, asking fans of the Muv-Luv series what kind of stretch goals they'd like to see on the Kickstarter.

Interestingly, with these stretch goals it feels like they're going for something like an actual remake. I mean "Add actual routes and answers" for Muv-Luv Alternative? That sounds like fundamentally changing what it is! But hey, I'm totally up for it because expanding on a universe like Muv-Luv is very welcome.

Another option is a localization for Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Muv-Luv's predecessor which is set in the same universe and shares a few characters. I myself would love to see it, especially since I hear time and time again that it's supposedly really good.

And of course, there's the infamous "Muv-Luv gets an anime" option. Like smurf yeah Muv-Luv deserves a good anime adapation, but why the hell is this on a kickstarter for the visual novel localization again? Plus with the ups and downs of the anime visual novel adaptations I see many people preferring they stay away from doing it.

Update The Second

Kickstarter is scheduled to go live near the end of August from what I heard.
