Laura Arseid is a character in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel that I will be finishing up soon. She will also be a character in part 2 and probably in part 3 if they decide to make a part 3.

Laura is a noble and daughter of a famous swordsman and Viscount from Legram. While she is a noble, something that is important in the Erebonian Empire and its caste system, she is not a "high ranking" noble necessarily, although her family is prestigious and well respected. Her father is a legendary swordsman who trains many of the military members of the Imperial Army.

She aspires to follow in her father's footsteps and takes her training very seriously. She is also very level-headed and direct, never really hiding her feelings and making clear what she expects of others. This makes her very easy to communicate with as you always know where she stands and what she needs. She's usually pretty easy to get along with, although she does have one tiff with a party member who comes from a very different background. Laura is, however, mature enough to acknowledge her closed mindedness and work towards overcoming it and improving herself. She can easily see her fault, own up to them, and grow as a person, which is something I strongly admire.

She uses a giant sword in battle and is one of the heaviest hitters, especially if you capitalize on that and build her appropriately. Her elements are fire and water, supposedly to symbolize her balanced nature.

So there are many reasons I like Laura. She's a useful fighter, she's able to acknowledge her faults and grow as a person, she is clear and direct which makes her easy to get along with, she's generally not judgemental and doesn't look down on the commoners because she is a noble. She works really hard and she's very caring to her friends and the people of her village. While she is a very serious and stern lady, she's also just overall a really good, hardworking, and caring person.
