Well America has done it, those smurfing idiots have closed down the biggest file host on the internet, yes, MegaUpload has been shut down and the owners have been arrested.

Disgusted? I know I am, not only disgusted though but smurfing angry too... could America have done anything as stupid as what they have just done, the internet is going to be up in smurfing arms about this.

with just 2 minutes in chat (on another site) everyone is clamouring for hackers of the world to unite... and tbh I will be surprised if the government doesn't wake up tomorrow to find that taking down MU was a smurfing big ass mistake.

    Did you even bother to read the article? BBC says it was America, US Officials say it was America, the US MisJustice department says it was America. It was America.

    well... america is gonna get verry bussy, like this they could arrest pretty much every american :/
    since even the music on the ipod/mp3`s are illegal..

    than i guess they should shut down this site too.. copyright of those pictures etc?

    Verry short:
    SOPA is a (upcomming) bill that will shut down alot of site becaus of copyright.
    Sites such as Megaupload have alot of movies on it that violate that copyright, and for that the owners got arrested.
    Mega is just the first of many IF that bill really passes.

    Pls do correct me if im wrong..

    edit: But now i hear from my fellow 9gaggers that SOPA is already dead, huray!!

    troll hunter is right and wrong. Sopa would allow the government to close any site that showed copyrighted material, and PIPA was like SOPA's retarded twin brother with a congenital birth defect that gives him xray vision.

    The thing is, SOPA was ridiculous enough that it would make PIPA seem like the lesser of two evils and as such, be more likely to be passed.

    I'm gonna laugh if the whole internet backlash against SOPA is just to take people's minds off of PIPA; and when it actually gets passed, after everyone's all like "Yeah we won! We beat the government!" it'll just destroy everyone's faith in humanity and cause widespread suicide. Which I will gladly partake in.
