Re: The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion
... part of the evolutionary steps that must be taken to achieve, or even make any progress towards a free society. As it may be naive to think that measures such as this would be largely successful under today's conditions, this is the mentality that needs to be taken in order to actually become free. Obedience and fear is their power. These measures are largely unsuccessful because those that actually strive to become as free as possible are few. If more and more people actually acted free, there would be a better chance at tactics like this succeeding. People seem to react and follow under the standard of following others. If more people acted free and set the standard for others, those that are more apt to follow would realize that liberty is the "hip" thing and in an ideal scenario, would follow suit. Most people don't live free now because they are scared and would probably be the only one in their neighborhood to do so.
An example of support groups can be seen with those in New Hampshire for the Free State Project and those active with Free Keene. As some of their activism can be questioned and the measure of their success so far is largely unseen, the example of the existence of support breeding action is there. People in New Hampshire are more apt to perform civil disobedience or other activism functions that would be considered 'taboo' in other areas because they know that they will have others acting with them, as well as support through the court process such as court room presence and financial support. People aren't scared at all to film the police in Keene because there's so many of them that will do it and the police are just used to this occurring. Again, their tactics could be considered ineffective to some, but the example of numbers equaling action is there.
In my opinion, it also goes along with Stefan Molyneux's point that if children aren't raised with violence (the language of the state), they would be less apt to submit to the a brutal hierarchy and less apt to accept the moral authority of those that call themselves the state. It may be naive under today's conditions to think that those acting completely free won't be greeted with violence and caging, but we can at least start thinking in this manner and realize what it takes to become free.
