Eliteness. They lack anything in terms of defence so "uber players" can wear them into battle to prove how great they are. 'Course you can simply de-equip your armour and do the same thing, but meh.

Unequipping your equipment doesn't make your character weak to all the elements. A Straw Hat does, for some reason.
Other than that, they're handy for some quick gil. The shirts sell for 9,000 gil apiece.
If you want a challenge, try beating Ozma with them. :rolleyes2
