Yoichi Wada (President of Square-Enix) recently issued a statement regarding the release date of Final Fantasy XII. "We still haven't decided...however, Final Fantasy XII won't be released this spring" said the President. It is unfortunate that FFXII isn't going to make the previous release date. However, we here at Eyes on Final Fantasy will keep you posted as soon as any further information is made available.

Now for the good news. Wada-san did indicate that Square-Enix will be releasing an average of twelve products per year from now on, which is definitely a good sign. Also, Wada-san mentioned that FFXII's release would be timed so that it won't have to compete with any other Square-Enix titles.

And finally, Square-Enix also hopes to increase the percentage of it's world-wide sales outside Japan to 50 per cent. Currently it rests at around 30 per cent. After the "Spirits Within" fiasco not so long ago, it's nice to see that things are now looking up for Square-Enix.

The official Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children website was updated earlier this week. The site now contains the four minute trailer that was first shown at the Tokyo Game show in September of this year (marked as "Trailer 003" in the "Trailers" section), as well as the previous two trailers.

It took Square-Enix long enough to make the trailers available on their official site, didn't it? Currently, the DVD movie is expected to be released in Japan in Spring, 2005. As always, we'll keep you posted.

Square-Enix has opened the official "Final Fantasy & Dragon Quest in Itadaki Street Special" website. There's only a few bits and pieces on the site right now - namely some pictures and game information - but there's sure to be some more updates in the pipeline.

The game will be released for Japanese Playstation 2 gamers at some point during Winter. As for the rest of the world? Well, the game probably won't make it outside of Japan due to it's unusual nature. Here's hoping, though.

Good news for European Final Fantasy fans: Square-Enix is releasing its Gameboy Advance RPG 'Final Fantasy I-II Advance' on December 10th of this year. In an interesting note, the title of the game will be 'Final Fantasy I-II: Dawn of Souls'. This subtitle was registered in North America on July 26th, so the title will probably make it into the US version of the game as well.

Square-Enix have opened the official site for their forthcoming cell/mobile phone based title, Before Crisis: FFVII. President Shinra, Rufus, Tseng, Reno, Rude, Veld and two other playable characters have been confirmed for the game so far, and more may be in the works. FFVII's star players Cloud and Sephiroth are also featured on the official site, so there's a chance they'll both be involved in the game, too.

Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII will be available to Japanese users of NTT DoCoMo's FOMA 900i series cell phones on August 31st, 2004. European and North American release dates are unconfirmed as of yet.

Some of these titles include Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI, Seiken Densetsu, Saga, Front Mission, Hanjuku Hero, Chrono Trigger, and Chocobo.

Also confirmed for the DS are Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles and some sort of Dragon Quest title.

True, we already have "Final Fantasy: Advent Children" and "Before Crisis" in the works, but Square-Enix have also confirmed that yet another Final Fantasy VII related title is being developed as we speak. No details concerning the game or storyline have been released, but the current issue of V-JUMP magazine shows a silhouette of a character (that looks like Vincent) who will be featured in the game.

We're assuming that Square-Enix will make some sort of announcement about this title in the near future. When this happens, we'll let you know.
