There's nothing wrong with buying modern music!
It's just that good modern music is kind of hard to find because you'll have to dig through a huge pile of to find it. But there is a lot of good music being created still. Myself, I'm currently listening a lot to singers/songwriters Anna Ternheim and Jenny Lewis (and the Watson Twins), both very worth checking out.
