Yeah, I was going to add a bit that said "but matches are funner" but I forgot. Sorry >:O That sound is the best bit of lighting a match imho. It's relli (pardon my French) fulfilling. But matches are so short they die out too quickly. I think if they made longer matches then the fire would last longer and you wouldn't have to be scared for your fingers no mores.
Lighters are indeed great, but are nowhere near as satisfying as matches. You know when you strike a match... and there is that sound of the head sparking aflame and the wood begins to crackle and... SQUIRM. It is really like bringing something to life—and then watching it die. Please wait while I check the dictionary to ensure I am still using real words.
Good gosh! I missed that apoplectic relaxed usernote! Lighters are easier to use than matches, you should get a neon green lighter. It will serve you well.
