And the surprise definitely makes it nicer. Though I must admit I am guilty of doijng things for my friends for when they have helped me out in the past. That is always out of my own will, and not because they say you owe me one.

Yeah exactly. It also feels better when people do things for you just cause and not cause they owed you, on the other side of the spectrum AND YES like I sent someone a gift for christmas two christmases ago, and then it was like...it seemed like they wanted to do something back just because I had given them something and that really bothers me. Enough for a >=(
