Stephen King does mention punk rock more specifically in the novel, however. More so the ramones than punk rock, though.

A fun fact
In Pet Sematary, the word Nirvana is used on the same page that In Utero is written on (and in italics). Though it's most likely a coincidence, I chuckled at it nevertheless.

Yeah even Nirvana themselves think so. Or at least Cobain did. It does sound a bit too polished.

Eddie (the janitor) and I would go on for ages trying to prove which was the best (though not favorite) Nirvana album. Though we had conflicting opinions, we managed to agree that Nevermind wasn't the stronger (him even more so than I, however, he really seemed to hate Nevermind (not the music on it but blah blah blah it was years ago))

Yeah I get it. ;P Although from what I have, I think I can say that Bleach and In Utero are both stronger albums than Nevermind. I think anyways.
