There was a popular phrase at my school: Man up, nigga!
Maybe it meant toughen up, or something. People would usually say that to others, even if they were friends. I guess they were just too lazy to help out.

You do what you gotta do, you know. I’m nothing of a fighter (like Matt is), but I can be aggressive if I have to be. And Jason doesn’t really have that. Sure, we could have just let people pick on him all the time and argue that is what high school is about, but smurf it. Matt enjoyed it more than anyone, anyway. Ruthless boy.
