I think we can thank Metallica for that fact that none of these great bands get recognized. (Although alot of big bands I really do love alot.)

Some things are unfair like that. Alexi is pretty much everywhere where there are guitars, while a lot of other good guitarists hardly get noticed.
But then again the whole band (CoB) are pretty well-known amongst people with that kind of taste in music. They kind of overshadow some other great bands in the same genre. Norther comes to mind. They're a really great band, but they are often said to be Children of Bodom copies/clones, and such, which is really unfair. They have their own sound, and they do their thing. It's strange they don't get more attention.
I do like Children of Bodom, they make great albums, but I do think they should let other bands get some time in the spotlight as well.

Yeah, I know what your saying with that one as well. I waited so long for a guitar world article on Chuck Schuldiner (Death) and when I finally got one it wasnt very long and it didnt include his methods of playing in there.

Indeed, he is a really something. He's gotten a lot of attention for it as well, unlike many other great guitarists.
It's kind of sad that there are so many great bands out there who don't get the attention they deserve.

Alexi Laiho is amazing. I like his solo's Bed of Razors.

I really love the sound of electric guitars. A bad guitarist can really ruin the whole band. But if you're good it's so awesome.

Playing in public is difficult I admit.

Well, it's difficult to play an instrument when you're shy. And I am.

Learning is fun.

I love electric guitars. I wish I could play.
