I love the beginning! But it's packed with cutscenes. You fight like 10 times in the first 4 hours. After that, the whole thing becomes paced much better. Also, Shion, chaos, and MOMO will learn all the healing ethers naturally so for god's sakes don't do Rubedo's Support skill line because it sucks goatballs.

U-Do reminds me of Helmer because Helmer says it "UUUuuuu-DOOOoooo" and I'm convinced he's in love with it.
