I do mean open, yes. And I haven't played nor do I know much of Shadow Hearts, so I can't comment on it, though Señor Acupuncturist doesn't exactly sound all too influential. :P

Vaan for example doesn't really express love interest ever, does he? I'm sure of course that he is straight by default in the character designers' minds, but I wonder how much would change if he were indeed homosexual. More to the point, I doubt there'd ever be a Cloud/Squall/Zidane/Tidus/Yuna lead though. Maybe a not-main-character party member someday far away. Fran needed a girlfriend. >:/

Heya. I'm thinking. Is a Japanese or Western (basically, American) video game more likely to feature a homosexual character? What do you think? How long until a major/successful video game features a non-straight main character, do you think? Can you even imagine a Final Fantasy with a gay lead?
