One year, at least. I'm just going for the one year contract to start, but if I like it I may stay longer.
Heh heh heh.
I am! I moving to China!
Haha, I'm the same. Hence the need for training and practice. Either doubt or don't think, haha. Already am, in all cases bar citizenship.
Yup. It's very intensive. He's just an excellent teacher. You don't have to teach kids, you pleb. Most people go into business teaching. I'm only really teachin kids because it's in China. I'll still visit people, but I don't I'll move back.
Haha, there are many reasons beside the really excellent TEFL course. If ever you or anyone you know is looking to become a TEFL teacher, I highly recommend this course for as long as Chaz Pugliese is there. A life changing man. Also, I don't have to pay back my student loan now that I'm resident in France, so all the money that I have is 100% my money.
Yeah, I did it in September. In Tournan-en-Brie, just outside of Paris. Bloody fantastic. Aced it, liek a baws.
The whole point of my training was ensuring I would be able to teach english anywhere. That's the point of teaching english as foreign language. It would be impossible to do worldwide if you could only teach people who already knew some. I've successfully taught people who knew absolutely zero english. By the end of one 40 minute lesson, I had them discussing their hobbies and how often they do them.
Nah. You use a load of pictures, videos, gestures and examples, depending on the level. Pointing is universal for "look where I am pointing", for example.
You teach in the target language. Best way to teach a foreign language is to expose them to it. I've also bought the Rough Guide phrasebook and a traveller's picture book, which is essentially just pictures of things that you point at to communicate.
