Hello LWL How are you these days? it's been a while!!
MY SANCTUARY!! HANDS DOWN!!! EEEEEEEEE!!!!
Yes, yes i did. Also, Hikaru Utada's music, go listen.
I haven't read many books about that sort of stuff, but that's mostly because I almost never read books in the first place. I have watched a fair amount of movies that have touched the subject in varying degrees. Ghost in the shell is one, Blade Runner and A.I. also comes to mind. Terminator 2 is actually pretty interesting too, despite being mainly an action movie. Particularly the directors cut of T2 includes some scenes that I can't understand why were taken out of the first cut. It revealed that terminators that were sent out on missions were put in "read only" mode, so that the AI wouldn't pick up inconvenient thoughts. In one of the new scenes, however, sarah connor turned off that "read only" mode, allowing the terminator to learn new things and evolve socially with the humans around him. smurfing forums complaining my post is too long, so i'm splitting it up
The Matrix is of course another good piece on sentinent machines, and don't forget the battlestar galactica series, where human-shaped thinking and feeling machines are integral to almost every part of the story. As for Persona 3, it is a love/hate relationship. The game design often seems like it hates the player, but the story is very interesting and refreshening. I also enjoy the artistic style a lot, and the near-future setting is one I would like to see more often in games.
I think true, sentient AIs are a really interesting topic, and i greatly enjoy stories where they play a role. I'm not sure how viable a romantic relationship between AIs and humans would be though, because of how vastly different a human and an AI would think and process information. The androids in Persona 3 however, basically have a reprogrammed human brain, so that's a bit different from a true AI.
Metis, from Persona 3 FES. Robot girl thing.
I'll take that as a compliment, but I don't entirely understand why. Is it because I am blunt about it? Sadly, there are no traditions for proms where I come from, so I have no idea what I would wear or how I would behave at one.
Oh no, I don't get ruffled over technology, I am as focused as a laser and I deal out my thoughts with robotic efficiency xD
I... well... maybe.
