Posting outside of academia isn't too hard. Just have to get in there and talk about something. There's usually some nonsense threads in general gaming going on. Asking opinions on things and whatnot. Light and easy stuff but opportunity for conversation. No need to be scared since we all feel a bit awkward putting ourselves out there sometimes. Just give it a shot. It's rare for things to get heated outside of academia. Just use lot's of emoticons if you're being sarcastic. I've learned that the hard way.

Yeah, I felt I should. I behaved poorly so the least I could do is apologize for it. I shouldn't leave someone else feeling bad for my behaviour after all and it's important to take responsibility for being a dick when I do act like a dick. Not something I'm always great at but I've been trying in the last year to get better about it and am still working at it. I noticed some time ago it was a bad habit of mine and I've hurt people I really care about in the past and hurt them quite deeply because of it and I don't want to keep repeating that with everyone, and especially don't want to continue my old behaviour of never really taking responsibility for it. It's a bad way to live and a bad way to interact with people. Even when it comes to people I absolutely hate (you not being one of them of course. )there's usually a better way to deal with things.

smurf I ramble a lot. Long story short: often a dick and trying to stop being such a dick. I'll keep working at it and I appreciate your understanding and forgiveness here. It really means a lot.

It's all good man. Things can get heated in that forum and if people aren't in the best of moods to begin with, well, we both know first hand what can happen. No worries about anything you said. Like I think I've told you before after some heated arguments, I may not always agree with you, but overall you're a cool guy with great taste in games and I love chatting with you around the forum. I'd truly hate if I did anything that one day compromised that. Even when we heatedly disagree it's a good thing. It's never good to just rest on ones laurels intellectually and it's always nice to have people willing to challenge your attitudes and positions. I just need to do a better job of reminding myself of that sometimes.

Hey man, sorry for anything I said that came off as rude or hurtful today. It's not an excuse but bad day mental health wise lead to some frustrations boiling over in the thread. I'd rather have a good discussion than be passing angry posts and barbs back and forth and hopefully my last post shows that. No hard feelings on my end and I'll endeavour to be a bit clearer and more understanding from here on without letting emotional reactions get the better of me.
