Beat the Delta Episode. Apart from more forced dialogue, it was pretty cool. While I miss the complexity of the spear pillar, that cutscene with Rayquaza was incredibly awesome.

Well, maybe I enjoyed it more since I didn't feel so strongly about Kalos

I was quite fond of it, personally. The only thing I didn't like that came out was that they left out features that were awesome about GS - a day and night cycle, multiple regions, etc. But I also played A LOT of it when I was a kid and I really enjoyed all the new Pokemon. This was an awesome trip back memory lane, even if Game Freak doesn't understand that sometimes less is more

It's heavy-handed, with all the subtlety of a brick to the face. I mean, not that I'm expecting sophisticated writing from Pokemon but what made Wally pretty cool in the original was that he was this weak kid that you really didn't interact too much with, and the suddenly he shows up before the Elite Four with a really badass team. It's great because it all happens in the background and you get to fill the hasp with your imagination. Now Wally is like this moe blob that everyone is sure is destined for greatness and you are directly told that formerly surprise battle on Victory Road is going to happen, which really kills all the suspense. His battle theme is pretty rad, but really, I think this was not necessary. Also, Steven talks way too much now, killing all the cool and mysterious qualities that he had in the original, but I digress.

I did like, however, how Team Aqua was developed, because that actually fit, and with all the fanart Archie and Maxie and their Admins get, I actually started feeling really attached to those guys so it was really nice to see them upgraded from outright evil to misguided but ultimately good-hearted.

Call me weird, but now that I beat the main story, I think they kinda botched Wally's subplot in ORAS.

Yeah, Cofagrigus was certainly a problem for your team. Volcarona can 1v1 it and come out on top, but nothing really likes to switch in on the shadow balls.

Also, just a detail: Knock Off is way weaker than Night Slash since we are playing without items. =P
