oh dear this is going to be just like true crime, i am losing cop points left and right

Yeah good advice all around I guess. It's been a little under eight years but whatever. It's ridiculous.

I've certainly considered trying to make music my career. The problem is first I need to learn to market myself if I'm going to make a living out of it, which is a skill I'm hopelessly unprepared for. Especially since the very idea of marketing makes me nauseous.

Yeah that was what I did with it until I found sources of political information that were useful. Now I'm on close to every day.

Yeah no kidding. I dunno about that either. I guess I should make something happen.

As to the job, the process of finding and applying for a new job intimidates me mostly and I don't know exactly what would make me happy. I've started a thread on a board I admin where there has been some discussion of these processes but it exploded and it's an intimidating amount of reading already so I'm not learning much from it :<

Also dude you need to get back to listening to metal, there has been a troutload of awesome stuff lately

I hate Facebook. :< If it weren't such a good source of information and the only way I can keep in touch with various people I don't want to lose touch with I would never use it.

90% of the time I'm in the mood for post-rock I just put on Godspeed, but Talk Talk (specifically their last two albums), Bark Psychosis, and Slint are pretty good if you haven't listened to those.

Facebook is the worst. Ugh. Is there a way to have it so trout I like doesn't show up in friends' feeds?

i've been listening to VAST's first album lately, that's kind of orchestral. Did you listen to Wintersun yet? That's also pretty orchestral. Haven't been listening to much that would actually qualify as ambient though.
