I know right, god talks to who he wants to talk to, it's just that men with the priesthood are given an authority with it xD it doesn't make sense!

The argument about women holding the priesthood reflects the same situation with black members holding it - that it wasn't allowed for a long time but the church should get with the times and change their policies., There is a huge rights movement right now about equality in the church between genders, and I don't know if you were aware of or paid attenion to the "wearing pants to church" rally that was going on not too long ago, but there is a big push for women to be given the right to hold the priesthood. I think the argument against this is pretty silly, and this is what has been taught to me since I was a child - that women gift the gift of life and men get spoken to by god. Those things are... apples and oranges and I don't see how comparing them is relevant in any way, shape or form x_x Additionally it could be argued that men play a part in the gift of life as much as women do because, well, their sperm are needed!

tl;dr it's essentially that women want to right to the priesthood but men are like "no go have your babies peasants and let the men do the real work like talking to god this is our thing and you have your own"

It's true, though xD (sorry I didn't read your link, I don't want to at work) but supposedly Joseph Smith personally ordained a number of black members as priesthood holders himself, and when Brigham Young took up shop in office he was all "nope can't have any of that! rescinding all privileges of the colored folk" which I find properly mortifying, if I do say so myself xD
