This is true, but the standard norm for the community is age eight. If you wait until after, a black sheep stigma is attached to you. When the time came for my baptism, I wasn't asked if I wanted it, the wheels were just set in motion. When I told my mom that I didn't feel ready and that I wanted to wait atleast another year, I was told no and baptised anyway.
