It was awful to see. I especially felt bad because I had to witness the examinations and also be there when she was put down because Jessie didn't like many people and she always would be soft as hell with me ever since she was a kitten and I taught her that I was a bigger cat than her. (she used to hiss and swipe so I'd hiss and swipe back at her she learnt that I was bigger on her own terms and therefore came to be gentle as a feather around me) so to get her to sit still ect I had to hold her and stroke her. It hurt seeing my favourite kitty in so much pain hurt even more to put her to sleep but I know it was the kindest thing that we could do. I guess I'll be ok though I'm strong like that. x

I was pretty confused at first but then I was like for the rest of my shift. Nothing so far in regards to that though I've been really sad today because last night one of my cats got hit by a car, she survived the initial accident but unfortunately she had to be put down since her injuries were just too severe.

I'm good thanks, managed to score a beneficial bit of luck today! I was assisting a customer with some reccomendations on music CDs and basically "improvising" reviews of the albums for her as I was doing so and well turns out she's in the industry for marketing, pr, publishing ect and she was so impressed she's actually going to drop in a list with some of the agencies she thinks I ought to contact about work because I'm passionate yet critical at the same time and very good with words I was like "did I just get talent scouted at work?" lol x

Yeah imho when you go in to a place for a meal it's a bad idea to then ask about jobs same as when I'm shopping if I see a job in a place I will go back when I'm not shopping to enquire rather than enquire when shopping. I don't know why but it seems to work better x

Waiting tables generally doesn't require experience, the best thing might be to go in to a restaurant when it's quieter and speak directly to the manager introduce yourself and basically have a chat/mini-interview with them and leave them a copy of your CV to go with it. Generally that works best don't be too up about the job just get to know them, dare I say it flirt a little lol. I've done that in the past and it's worked, everyone starts with no experience, so don't get down about the lack of it. Soul crushing job eh? Was it like trying to get people signing up for Asda credit cards? I haven't had to do that one but well a person I know did, they lasted a couple of days before quitting. If you think it's something to do with your CV you can e-mail me the file and I'll look it over perhaps give you some pointers on making it scream "call me back" at them? Also yes, dropping things is embarassing, dropping pizza on a mans head when he's wearing a white coat is hillarious. x

you learn very quickly lol. I was quite clumsy with that kind of thing too before I worked in a restaurant. Now I can carry pretty much anything balanced up on one hand and my shoulder, including things what weigh way too much for it, going to crush my spine one of these days I'm sure lol. Also you're perfectly likable so what their problem is I'll never get x

it sounds silly but management experience in any type of role goes far, go for bar/restaurant service work, as a waitress you can earn quite good tips (though the job is tough and demanding) I worked as a waiter and my average weekly tips was like £100 - £150 a week (I worked 2 - 3 evenings/nights a week, maybe a morning only) and you can in some companies begin climing their management training programmes within 3 months of working there. Within 6 months you can be a shift manager or assistant manager and within a couple of years if you stuck it out you could end up with your own branch. Not bad on the resume that x

yeah that is wise. avoid retail like the plague if you can but it's useful to have some experience in it.

I work 5 but in retail you get 1 day off in the week, and have sundays off apart from 1 in a month which I have to work. Still sucks though last week was my sunday shift so I worked 7 days straight! x
