HERE IS A USERNOTE FROM ME!

No, the word-part "con" has two seperate meanings. One is 'against', and the other is 'together'.

Congress both in noun and verb form use the latter meaning. 'A group that acts and thinks together', and 'come together'.

Pro and con aren't always opposites. :o Concert uses the 'together' meaning. Converse (to talk) is uses 'together', and converse (something against or in contradiction to something else) uses 'against'. That's all for examples. :O
